Last minute decided to go for Tingwei's piano concert to support her!! I totally didn't regret the decision because now that I think about it, everything was totally hilarious! And I feel that it is the best way to celebrate the start of my JUNE HOLIDAY too!
After two weeks of torture in school, finally everybody's long-awaited day is here. Our hoolliiddaayyy.
I rushed home to rest before meeting Amelia at mrt station. Amelia wore a DRESS! I almost got a heart attack when she tell me that. HAHA. Anyway, so we trained to Dover prettily (for Amelia Choo) and happily. Here comes the epicness. I think it will sound really ridiculous and dumb to everyone else (except for Amelia and Yi lian, who really suffered :( )
So here I begin our 'ADVENTURE TO UWC'
Tingwei's concert commence at 7.30pm. Venue: Singapore poly convention centre at Dover.
When Amelia and Yi lian reached Dover MRT station, it's already 8.30pm. So they rushed to the nearest bus stop, checked the google map/the board at the bus stop. And decided, YES THEY SHALL TAKE THE BUS. So they board the bus and alighted at 'opposite Singapore poly'. When they walked straight, there was a 'Singapore Polytechnic' signboard infront of a freaking FOREST. They totally don't believe the signboard, and went along with their gut feeling, that singapore poly is OPPOSITE THE BUS STOP.
So they crossed the road and walked into a place that will soon bring nightmare to them.
There were no end in front of them, just a long walkway. At their right-hand side was a forest-like place. At the left-hand side was a building they believe to be the place they are looking for. So they kept on walking.
The whole place was so quiet and dark. Inside the building, there's not a single soul but a lot of art works. Everything's starting to freak them out. But they still followed their gut feeling. Just when Yi lian felt that something's not right, Amelia tapped her shoulder and pointed her towards a signboard that read 'Satan playhouse'. Amelia totally freaked out when she saw the signboard. But soon they realised that it's actually 'Safari playhouse'. Realising their mistake, they heaved a sigh of relief. They hastened their pace when they finally see the end of the long pathway. But to their horror, when they reached the end of the pathway, the building's actually a freaking United World College Singapore aka UWC! After that, they basically flee that place.
They walked out of the long and scary covered walkway and went back to the main road, where they crossed the road again. This time round, they have no choice but to believe the forest signboard. So they head towards the signboard and from there on, followed their gut feeling again. This time round, they really end up in Singapore poly. After asking for directions from the security guard, Amelia and Yi lian continue on with their adventure through the humongous Singapore poly. After getting a few help from some strangers, Amelia and Yi lian is finally on the right path to the convention centre. When they are almost there, suddenly, the place feels familiar to them. So they start to look around them. And to their horror for the second time, they realise that they are back to square one. You know why? Because the convention centre is just right next to the Dover MRT Station.
Speechless.
Amelia and Yi lian went a whole big round. They scared themselves for nothing. They went through the whole UWC trip for nothing. And most importantly they are so late for the concert!
Ok fine. They accept their fate. They went in to the convention centre and enjoyed the last few piano pieces.
